Mumbai Air Quality: Karjat Tree Felling Raises Concerns

Mumbai residents are expressing concern over the impact of recent tree felling in Karjat, a town located on the outskirts of the city. Environmentalists and local communities have raised alarm bells, stating that the removal of trees could exacerbate air pollution in the already densely populated Mumbai metropolitan area. The felled trees, they argue, played a crucial role in absorbing pollutants and providing shade, contributing to a healthier environment. The authorities are yet to issue a statement regarding the extent of the tree felling and the reasons behind it.
