The Madhya Pradesh government expects to supply an extra 3,000 to 4,000 megawatts of electricity next week to ease the state's growing power shortage.
In a statement released on Monday, the Madhya Pradesh government said it anticipates an additional 3,000 to 4,000 megawatts of power generation capacity coming online next week, aiming to address the state's mounting electricity demand.
The announcement comes amid reports that the state's power supply has been strained by a surge in consumption and a slowdown in new plant construction. The additional capacity is expected to be sourced from a mix of thermal and renewable projects that have recently reached the commissioning phase.
Energy experts note that even a few thousand megawatts can significantly reduce load shedding in key districts. The government has also pledged to accelerate the approval of pending power projects to sustain the increased supply.
The Ministry of Power will monitor the rollout and update the public on the actual availability of the promised capacity. Residents and businesses are urged to plan for a smoother power supply in the coming weeks.
