The Madhya Pradesh government has mandated that all government schools finish the curriculum for classes 1 to 8 by 31 January, ahead of teachers being assigned to census duties. Student proficiency will also be assessed and school timetables may be adjusted if necessary.

The state government of Madhya Pradesh has issued a directive for all government schools to complete the curriculum for classes 1 through 8 by 31 January. This move comes as a preparation for the upcoming census, during which teachers will be deployed for data collection.

Under the new guidelines, schools will not only finish teaching the syllabus but also conduct proficiency checks to ensure students have mastered the material. The education department has warned that if any school falls behind, its timetable may be revised to accommodate extra instructional time.

The directive aims to streamline the learning process and provide a uniform assessment of student readiness before teachers transition to census duties. Officials expect the initiative to improve educational outcomes and support the census’s accuracy by ensuring teachers are well‑prepared for their temporary roles.
