During a Shahdol public hearing, a woman claimed a local employment assistant falsely marked her as dead, removing her from the Samagra portal and cutting off Ladli Bahna scheme benefits. The MP has ordered an inquiry and action against the official.

A public hearing in Shahdol turned contentious when a resident woman alleged that a government employment assistant had entered her name as deceased in official records. The entry led to her removal from the Samagra portal, the central database that tracks beneficiaries of various welfare schemes.

According to the complainant, the erroneous death record caused her to lose eligibility for the Ladli Bahna Yojana and other state-sponsored assistance programs. She asserted that the mistake was deliberate, aimed at denying her the financial support meant for vulnerable families.

The matter was taken up by the local Member of Parliament, who instructed the district administration to launch an immediate investigation. The MP directed that the accused assistant be suspended pending inquiry and that corrective action be taken to restore the woman's status in the portal.

State officials said they would verify the records, update the portal, and ensure that any missed benefits are disbursed retroactively. The incident highlights the critical role of accurate data management in delivering welfare schemes to intended recipients.
