Madhya Pradesh IPS officer Anurag Sujania resigned on Monday, citing personal reasons, after being removed from the Sagar SP post on Sunday.
Anurag Sujania, a 2014 batch IPS officer, stepped down from his duties on Monday after the state government removed him from the position of Superintendent of Police in Sagar on Sunday.
The resignation letter was submitted to the state police headquarters, where Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is scheduled to meet senior police officials later today.
Sujania had served in various capacities across Madhya Pradesh, but his removal from Sagar followed a controversial incident involving the handling of a local protest.
The police department has not yet released a statement explaining the reasons behind the dismissal or the resignation.
The incident has drawn attention to the state’s police administration and the political dynamics surrounding appointments.
