MP Gaurav Gogoi asks Foreign Minister Jaishankar to step in on two missing Assam women

Gaurav Gogoi, a Member of Parliament from Assam, publicly urged the Union External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to intervene in the case of two women from the state who have disappeared. Gogoi said the families are in anguish and that the women "cannot simply disappear" without a thorough investigation.
The two women, whose identities have not been disclosed, were reported missing earlier this month, prompting local police to register a case. While the investigation is ongoing, Gogoi expressed concern that the matter requires higher-level attention to ensure swift action.
In his appeal, Gogoi asked Jaishankar to use his diplomatic and administrative reach to coordinate with state authorities and, if needed, seek assistance from central agencies. The foreign minister has not yet responded publicly, but officials said the request is being reviewed.
