MP CM Mohan Yadav announces Rs 30 crore bonus for 3.69 lakh tender leaf collectors in Betul

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced a total bonus of Rs 30 crore for about 3.69 lakh tender leaf collectors during his visit to Betul.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav arrived in Betul district today and addressed a gathering at the police ground. In the ceremony he disclosed that the Madhya Pradesh government will distribute a cumulative bonus of Rs 30 crore to roughly 3.69 lakh tender leaf collectors across the state.
The bonus, which will be paid out in a single tranche, is intended to reward the collectors for their contribution to the state's forest-based economy and to provide financial relief amid rising living costs. Officials said each eligible collector will receive a fixed amount calculated on the total pool.
Alongside the cash incentive, the CM announced a set of development projects for Betul, including road upgrades, water supply improvements and the construction of new community centres, aiming to boost overall infrastructure in the tribal‑dominant district.
Local collector unions welcomed the announcement, describing it as a long‑awaited gesture of appreciation. The government, however, cautioned that the disbursement will follow verification of eligibility and adherence to forest department guidelines.
Tender leaf collection remains a significant source of livelihood for many tribal families in Madhya Pradesh, and the bonus scheme is expected to have a noticeable impact on household incomes in the region.
