The Madhya Pradesh cabinet has approved the Uniform Civil Code draft, which will introduce uniform rules for marriage, divorce, inheritance, and live-in relationships. The draft excludes scheduled tribe communities.
The Madhya Pradesh cabinet, led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, has given its approval to the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) draft. This move is expected to bring about significant changes in the state's legal framework, particularly with regards to personal laws. The UCC draft aims to introduce uniform rules for marriage, divorce, inheritance, and live-in relationships, applicable to all citizens of the state, except for the scheduled tribe communities.
