The Madhya Pradesh assembly witnessed a heated debate over the Uniform Civil Code. The Congress party opposed the move, citing concerns over the rights of backward classes.
The Uniform Civil Code (UCC) has sparked a political storm in the Madhya Pradesh assembly. As soon as the UCC bill was introduced, the Congress party launched a scathing attack on the government. The opposition party has accused the government of being in a hurry to implement the UCC without considering the concerns of the backward classes. Umang Singhar, a Congress leader, criticized the government for remaining silent on the issues affecting the Other Backward Classes (OBCs).
