Mother, Son Die as Car Falls into 15‑Foot Pothole on NH‑27 Near Benibad, Muzaffarpur

On Saturday evening, a mother and her son travelling back to Darbhanga after celebrating Raksha Bandhan were involved in a fatal road accident on National Highway 27 near Benibad in Muzaffarpur district, Bihar. The vehicle reportedly lost control, struck and broke the highway railing, and then careened into a large pothole that was filled with water. The depression, estimated to be around 15 feet deep, caused the car to submerge, leaving little chance of escape. Both occupants were pronounced dead at the scene, according to reports from Amar Ujala. Local authorities have been notified and are expected to investigate the cause of the uncontrolled movement and the condition of the road surface.
