Monsoon Revives in Rajasthan: Yellow Rain Alert for 29 Districts till Sept 15

After a week of lull, the monsoon has returned to Rajasthan, prompting a yellow alert for 29 districts with rain expected through September 15, while the western region stays hot.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that the monsoon, which had been relatively inactive across Rajasthan for the past seven days, has re‑entered the state. A yellow alert has been issued for 29 districts, including Jaipur and Bharatpur, indicating moderate rainfall is likely.
The alert, effective immediately, is expected to remain in force until September 15. Residents in the affected districts have been advised to stay alert, avoid unnecessary travel during heavy showers, and take precautions against water‑logging.
While the central and eastern parts of the state brace for intermittent rain, the western districts such as Jaisalmer and Barmer are forecast to stay dry and experience higher temperatures, continuing the heat wave conditions that have persisted in the arid zones.
Authorities have mobilised local disaster management teams to monitor the situation and ensure swift response to any flood‑related emergencies. The IMD will continue to update forecasts as the monsoon progresses.
