The Indian Meteorological Department says the monsoon retreat has begun in Odisha, ushering in dry days while isolated thunderstorms are expected in some areas.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced that the monsoon retreat has officially begun across Odisha, marking the transition from the rainy season to a drier period.
According to the latest weather outlook, most districts will experience clear skies and reduced rainfall for the next several days, with only isolated thunderstorm activity expected in certain pockets.
The IMD has issued thunderstorm alerts for specific regions, advising residents to stay cautious, especially in coastal and low‑lying areas where sudden downpours could cause localized flooding.
Farmers and water‑resource managers are urged to adjust irrigation schedules and prepare for the upcoming dry spell, while authorities will continue monitoring weather patterns for any unexpected changes.
