The monsoon season is receding in Rajasthan, with western districts experiencing a rise in temperature while the southeast continues to receive light showers.
The monsoon spell that has dominated Rajasthan for the past months is now drawing to a close, officials say. Weather bulletins indicate that the western parts of the state are already feeling the first signs of the season's retreat.
Temperatures in districts such as Jodhpur, Bikaner and Jaisalmer have begun to climb, with daytime highs expected to reach the mid‑30s Celsius over the next few days. Meteorologists attribute the rise to the diminishing cloud cover and the gradual shift towards a dry, pre‑summer pattern.
Meanwhile, the southeastern districts, including Kota and Bundi, are still under the influence of scattered showers. Light rain is expected to persist for another 24‑48 hours before giving way to clearer skies. The regional forecast predicts a gradual warming across the state as the monsoon withdraws completely.
