Mohan Yadav inaugurates Panchayatn Temple foundation in Omkareshwar after Jyotirlinga visit

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav arrived in Omkareshwar on Wednesday night, performed the Shayan Darshan of the Jyotirlinga and today laid the foundation stone of the proposed Panchayatn Temple at Ektaam Dham, linking it to the town’s religious development.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reached the sacred town of Omkareshwar on Wednesday night, marking his first visit of the week to the revered Jyotirlinga site. The CM’s itinerary included a traditional Shayan Darshan, a ritual that involves viewing the deity in a reclining posture, symbolising peace and prosperity for the state.
During the Shayan Darshan, Yadav offered prayers for the welfare and economic growth of Madhya Pradesh, invoking the blessings of the Jyotirlinga. The ritual, observed by a gathering of priests and local devotees, underscored the cultural importance of the site in the region’s spiritual landscape.
The following day, the CM presided over the foundation‑stone laying ceremony for the proposed Panchayatn Temple at Ektaam Dham. Officials described the new temple as part of a broader plan to enhance Omkareshwar’s religious infrastructure and attract pilgrims.
The ceremony was attended by senior party leaders, district administrators and a crowd of worshippers, all of whom expressed optimism that the new shrine will further cement Omkareshwar’s status as a major pilgrimage centre.
State authorities indicated that construction of the Panchayatn Temple will commence shortly, with plans to integrate it into existing tourism and heritage initiatives across Madhya Pradesh.
