A newly constructed 27.37‑kilometre greenfield highway in Mohali is ready for traffic and will be opened to the public by the end of September. Officials say the stretch will cut travel time to just half an hour.
The highway, built as a greenfield project, spans 27.37 kilometres and has completed all construction work. Authorities have confirmed that the route is ready for vehicular movement and final safety checks are underway.
It is scheduled to be thrown open to traffic by the last day of September. The opening date aligns with the government’s target to improve regional connectivity before the festive season.
Once operational, the highway is expected to reduce the travel time between the connected points to approximately thirty minutes, offering a significant time saving for commuters and freight vehicles.
