The Mohali Municipal Corporation has upgraded its waste management by covering 13 collection points and installing surveillance cameras at nine of them.

The Mohali Municipal Corporation announced a two‑pronged initiative aimed at strengthening solid waste management across the city. Under the scheme, a total of thirteen garbage collection points have been officially covered, ensuring systematic collection and disposal.

In addition to expanding coverage, the corporation has installed surveillance cameras at nine of these points. The cameras are intended to monitor activities, deter illegal dumping and improve accountability among waste handlers.

Officials said the measures are part of an ongoing effort to maintain cleanliness and address public concerns about waste accumulation. The corporation plans to assess the impact of the cameras and may consider extending the system to other locations based on the results.

The initiative reflects the city's commitment to modernizing municipal services and promoting a cleaner urban environment for residents.
