Mohali Faces Cable Overload, City Aesthetics Tarnished

Mohali residents have reported a growing tangle of internet cable wires running across streets and public spaces, creating a visual clutter that detracts from the city's planned aesthetic. The cables, laid by multiple service providers, are often bundled haphazardly, leaving exposed strands that are difficult to manage.

Local officials have acknowledged the issue, noting that the lack of coordinated cable management has led to safety hazards and an unkempt appearance. In response, the municipal corporation is exploring a unified cable-laying scheme to streamline underground and overhead installations.

The city council has called for a public consultation to determine the best approach, emphasizing the need to balance technological infrastructure with urban cleanliness. Residents are urged to report any visible cable disarray to the civic authorities for prompt rectification.
