Moga police recovered a lakh rupees pledged as security for a gold ring from two women after CCTV footage showed the cash remained inside the auto‑rickshaw where Jang Singh was seated.
Moga police officials said they recovered Rs 1 lakh that had been given as collateral for a gold ring. The amount was handed over by two women after investigators linked the money to an auto‑rickshaw driver named Jang Singh.
The breakthrough came when officers synchronized footage from several CCTV cameras across the city. The video showed the bag containing the cash never falling on the road; instead, it stayed inside the auto‑rickshaw where Singh was seated.
Following the visual evidence, police located the vehicle, retrieved the bag and returned the money to the two women, closing the case without any further dispute.
