A mobile healthcare initiative has successfully extended services to all 93 last‑mile villages in Meghalaya, improving access to basic medical care.

A mobile health programme has now covered every one of the 93 villages classified as last‑mile in Meghalaya, according to a report by The Times of India. The outreach aims to bring primary medical services to areas where permanent health facilities are scarce. By travelling to these remote settlements, the units provide basic consultations, essential medicines and health awareness. Officials say the achievement marks a significant step toward reducing the health disparity faced by residents of the state's rugged terrain. The initiative is expected to continue its regular visits to sustain the gains made.
