The Mizo National Front has intensified its groundwork ahead of the 2028 Mizoram Legislative Assembly polls, signalling its intent to reclaim the state government.
The Mizo National Front (MNF) has stepped up its organisational drive as Mizoram prepares for the 2028 Legislative Assembly elections. Party cadres are mobilising across districts, holding rallies and door‑to‑door outreach to gauge voter sentiment and build support.
Sources within the party say that candidate shortlists are being finalised and that the leadership is consulting senior members on possible alliances with regional and national partners. The MNF is also focusing on issues such as infrastructure development, unemployment and border security, which it believes resonated with voters in the previous term.
MNF’s current administration, which has been in power since 2018, faces a competitive field that includes the Indian National Congress and newer regional outfits. Analysts note that the party’s performance on key welfare schemes will be a decisive factor in the upcoming contest.
