Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin criticised the TVK-led administration for installing Hindi signboards, saying it goes against the state's two-language policy of Tamil and English. He urged the government to respect the linguistic preferences of Tamil Nadu's people.

MK Stalin, who serves as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, issued a stern warning to the TVK-led administration over the recent installation of Hindi signboards in public spaces. He stated that such actions contradict the state's longstanding two-language policy, which recognises Tamil and English as the official languages for governance and public communication.

The Chief Minister emphasised that the policy aims to preserve Tamil linguistic identity while ensuring accessibility through English, and warned that imposing Hindi undermines this balance. He called on the TVK government to immediately remove the Hindi signboards and adhere to the established language guidelines.

Stalin's remarks come amid ongoing debates about language imposition in southern states, reiterating his commitment to protect Tamil Nadu's linguistic rights. He urged all concerned authorities to respect the cultural sentiments of the people and avoid any unilateral decisions that could affect social harmony.
