Mizoram’s Chief Minister Laltluangkima was officially sworn in as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha.

Mizoram Chief Minister Laltluangkima took the oath of office as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha today, marking the state’s entry into the upper house of Parliament. The ceremony was held in the Parliament House, New Delhi, where he pledged to represent Mizoram’s interests at the national level.

Laltluangkima, who has led Mizoram’s state government since 2018, will serve a six‑year term in the Rajya Sabha. His appointment follows the state’s election results, which secured a seat for the regional party in the upper house.

During the oath‑taking, the President of India administered the oath, and the Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the people of Mizoram for their support. He also highlighted the importance of bringing the state’s developmental priorities to the national agenda.

The new MP will now participate in parliamentary debates, committees, and legislative processes, ensuring that Mizoram’s concerns are voiced in national policy discussions.
