Mizoram Voter List Shrinks Post-Enumeration: Over 45,000 Removed

✍️ The Times of India 🗓 28 Jun 2026, 07:32 PM 👁 1

Mizoram's final voter count has seen a significant reduction, dropping from 8.75 lakh to 8.29 lakh following the finalisation of Special Investigation Report (SIR) enumeration forms.

Mizoram has witnessed a substantial decrease in its final voter count after the completion of the Special Investigation Report (SIR) enumeration process. The state's electoral roll has been revised downwards from an initial 8.75 lakh voters to 8.29 lakh.

This reduction translates to the removal of approximately 46,000 names from the voter list. The finalisation of the SIR enumeration forms, a process aimed at ensuring accuracy and updating the electoral rolls, has led to this revised figure.

The updated voter count is now the official number for the state's electorate, reflecting the outcome of the enumeration and verification procedures undertaken.
