Mizoram recorded a total of 537,000 tourist visits up to June, according to the state tourism minister.

The tourism department of Mizoram announced that 5.37 lakh visitors had come to the state from January to June this year. The figure was disclosed by the tourism minister during a briefing with media partners. Officials said the steady inflow reflects growing interest in the region's natural landscapes and cultural heritage.

State authorities have been promoting eco‑tourism and community‑based initiatives to attract domestic and international travelers. Recent campaigns highlight attractions such as the Blue Mountains, Durtlang Hill and traditional Mizo festivals.

The minister noted that the numbers, while encouraging, still fall short of the targets set for the fiscal year, and further efforts will focus on improving infrastructure and marketing the state as a safe, off‑beat destination.
