The Mizoram government, represented by K. Sapdanga, has imposed restrictions on Deepawali festivities for the Hindu community and announced stringent firecracker regulations.

Mizoram's state administration announced that Deepawali celebrations for the Hindu minority will be subject to new restrictions. The decision was communicated by K. Sapdanga, who outlined the government's intent to curb public festivities that could affect communal harmony.

In addition to limiting the scale of celebrations, the authorities have introduced strict rules governing the use of firecrackers. The regulations prohibit the sale and ignition of fireworks in residential areas and mandate that any permitted displays must be conducted under official supervision.

Officials said the measures aim to prevent potential disturbances and ensure public safety during the festival period. The announcement has been circulated through local media, urging residents to comply with the new guidelines.

The Hindu community in Mizoram, which forms a small proportion of the state's population, has been advised to observe the festival within the confines of the stipulated rules. Authorities have indicated that violations will attract penalties as per existing state law.
