In the Mizoram Legislative Assembly, MLA Lalduhoma announced that the state government will apply to the centre to withdraw its Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) permission.

Mizoram's ruling administration informed the state assembly that it intends to approach the Union government for the cancellation of its Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) registration. The declaration was made by senior legislator Lalduhoma during a routine session of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly.

The move reflects the state's desire to discontinue the receipt of foreign funds under the FCRA framework, though specific reasons were not detailed in the statement. Officials indicated that a formal application will be drafted and submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs in the coming weeks.

If approved, the withdrawal would require all NGOs and entities operating in Mizoram under the FCRA to cease foreign contributions until a new status is granted. The government said it will monitor the impact on development projects that currently rely on such funding.
