The Election Commission’s Special Incremental Revision in Mizoram has led to a substantial reshuffle of the state’s electoral roll, updating voter entries across the region.
The Election Commission of India has completed a Special Incremental Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll in Mizoram, resulting in a significant reshuffle of voter entries. The exercise, carried out across all constituencies in the state, aimed to incorporate new eligible voters, delete ineligible or duplicate entries, and correct existing data.
Officials said the SIR process is a routine but essential update that ensures the accuracy and integrity of the voter list ahead of upcoming elections. Voters whose details have changed, such as address or name corrections, as well as those who have passed away or moved out of the state, were systematically removed or amended.
The commission has urged citizens to verify their names on the revised roll through the official portal or at local electoral offices. Any discrepancies can be challenged within the stipulated period, after which the final roll will be published for use in future polls.
