Chief Minister Lalduhoma told Mizoram residents that Hindi can be learned without eroding the state’s distinct cultural identity.
Chief Minister Lalduhoma addressed a public forum in Mizoram, stressing that acquiring Hindi is essential for national integration but should not dilute the Mizo cultural fabric. He highlighted the need for a balanced approach where language learning coexists with the preservation of local traditions.
The CM urged schools, colleges and parents to introduce Hindi as a second language while continuing robust instruction in Mizo. He argued that bilingual proficiency would enhance employment prospects and enable better communication across India without threatening the community’s heritage.
Lalduhoma assured that the state government will support initiatives that promote Hindi teaching alongside measures to safeguard Mizo language, literature and customs. He called for collaborative efforts among policymakers, educators and civil society to achieve this dual objective.
