MGP MLA Ramesh Arolkar has stated that he finds it easier to collaborate with Sawant than with former Chief Minister Dhavalikar, highlighting intra‑party dynamics in Maharashtra politics.
Maharashtra Ganatantra Paksha (MGP) legislator Ramesh Arolkar said in a recent interview that he feels he gels better with Sawant than with former Chief Minister Dhavalikar. Arolkar, who represents the MGP’s growing influence in state politics, used the remark to underscore the differing working styles of the two leaders.
Sawant, a senior political figure in Maharashtra, is known for his collaborative approach, while Dhavalikar, who served as chief minister earlier, has a more confrontational reputation. Arolkar’s comment reflects the nuanced alliances within the MGP and its partners.
The statement comes at a time when the MGP is navigating its role in the current coalition government. By highlighting his preference for Sawant, Arolkar may be signaling a strategic alignment that could influence policy discussions.
The remarks were made during a press briefing in Mumbai, and were reported by The Times of India.
