The Sheraton hotel has introduced a new dining concept featuring authentic dishes from Meghalaya, showcasing the state's culinary heritage to guests.
Sheraton hotel has rolled out a dedicated menu that highlights the distinctive flavours of Meghalaya, including dishes such as Jadoh, Dohneiiong and tungrymbai. The initiative aims to bring the region's home‑cooked specialties to a wider audience, especially travelers staying at the hotel.
The culinary team collaborated with local chefs from Shillong to ensure authenticity in preparation and presentation. Ingredients sourced from Meghalaya's farms, such as locally grown rice, bamboo shoots and tribal herbs, form the backbone of the new offerings.
Hotel management expects the concept to attract both domestic and international tourists seeking regional food experiences, while also supporting local producers. The launch coincides with a broader push to promote Northeast India's cultural and gastronomic tourism.
Guests can now enjoy the Meghalaya menu at the hotel's main restaurant, with plans to host occasional cooking workshops and food festivals that celebrate the state's rich culinary traditions.
