The Meghalaya government has requested information on residents missing in Nepal following a flash flood that struck the country. Officials are working with Nepali authorities to locate the missing.

The Meghalaya government has formally requested information from Nepali authorities regarding residents from the state who are missing after a flash flood that hit Nepal. The request was sent to the Nepalese Ministry of Home Affairs and the local police department in the affected region. Meghalaya officials are hoping to obtain details on the whereabouts and safety of the missing individuals.

The flash flood, which struck the Terai region of Nepal earlier this month, caused widespread damage and displaced thousands of people. Several residents from Meghalaya were reported to have been traveling in the area when the disaster struck.

The state government has set up a dedicated team to coordinate with Nepali counterparts and is offering assistance to families seeking updates on their missing relatives. The team will also liaise with the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu to facilitate communication and support.

Officials have urged the Nepali authorities to provide any available information as soon as possible. The Meghalaya government has expressed its commitment to helping locate and assist the missing residents.
