The scheduled President’s Colour ceremony for the Meghalaya Police has been cancelled, officials said.
The President’s Colour ceremony, a prestigious event that honours a police unit with the national flag, was slated to be held in Meghalaya. Police officials announced that the ceremony will not take place as planned.
A police spokesperson confirmed the cancellation but did not provide a specific reason for the decision. The announcement was made shortly after the event had been publicised.
The ceremony typically involves senior police officers, government dignitaries and representatives of the armed forces, and marks a symbolic moment of pride for the force. With the event called off, the Meghalaya Police will likely reschedule the presentation at a later date, though no new timetable has been set.
Authorities said they will inform the public and the police community once a new date is confirmed, and that the cancellation does not affect the operational duties of the force.
