A state health team visited West Jaintia Hills district to review the delivery of non‑communicable disease services, as part of Meghalaya's health monitoring program.

Meghalaya's health department dispatched a team to the West Jaintia Hills district to conduct a systematic review of non‑communicable disease (NCD) services. The visit aimed to evaluate the availability of screening, diagnosis and treatment facilities for conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular disorders.

Officials met with district health officials and frontline workers to gather data on patient load, medication supply and outreach programmes. The assessment is part of the state's broader effort to strengthen primary healthcare and ensure that NCD management aligns with national guidelines.

Preliminary observations will be compiled into a report that will guide corrective actions, resource allocation and capacity‑building initiatives in the district. The health team plans to follow up with periodic reviews to track improvements over time.
