The Meghalaya government has extended the deadline for State Information Requests by two weeks following disruptions in the capital, Shillong.
The Meghalaya government announced a 14‑day extension to the deadline for filing State Information Requests (SIR) amid disruptions in the capital city of Shillong.
The extension gives citizens and organisations additional time to submit their SIRs, which were originally due earlier this month.
Officials said the disruptions in Shillong had affected administrative operations, prompting the decision to postpone the deadline.
The new deadline will allow the state to process requests more efficiently once normal functioning resumes.
