Meghalaya's chief minister highlighted the state's rapid economic growth, noting that its economy has more than doubled since 2018 during a speech on Independence Day.
On Independence Day, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma addressed the nation, celebrating the state's remarkable economic progress.
Sangma announced that Meghalaya's gross domestic product has more than doubled since 2018, positioning it among the fastest-growing states in India.
The growth, he said, is driven by increased investment in infrastructure, a boost in tourism, and the expansion of the service sector.
Looking ahead, the government plans to further liberalise investment policies and improve connectivity to sustain the upward trajectory.
