Deputy Chief Minister Dhar said Meghalaya's youth will not be swayed by the recent CJP protest and described the issue as a matter for the central government.
Deputy Chief Minister Dhar addressed reporters in Shillong, stating that the youth of Meghalaya remain steadfast and will not be influenced by the recent protest organized by the Centre for Judicial Protection (CJP). He emphasized that the concerns raised by the CJP are beyond the state's jurisdiction and fall under the purview of the Union government.
Dhar added that the state's young population is focused on local development, education and employment opportunities, and therefore is unlikely to be drawn into a protest that does not directly affect their daily lives. He urged the central authorities to handle the matter through appropriate institutional channels.
The statement comes amid a series of CJP demonstrations across several states, where the organization has been voicing grievances over judicial appointments. Dhar reiterated that any resolution must be pursued at the national level, not through state‑level agitation.
