The chief minister of Meghalaya visited the village of Rynjah to reassure the non‑tribal community that they will be protected following recent violence.

Meghalaya’s chief minister travelled to Rynjah, a village in the state’s East Khasi Hills district, to meet residents after a spate of violence that targeted members of the non‑tribal community.

During the visit, the minister held discussions with local leaders and families affected by the unrest, listening to their concerns about safety and property damage.

He pledged that the state government would ensure heightened police presence, swift investigation of the incidents, and that those responsible would be brought to justice.

The chief minister also appealed for communal harmony, urging all communities to maintain peace and cooperate with law‑enforcement agencies to prevent further clashes.
