Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has requested an additional ₹10,000 crore from the East Asian Partnership (EAP) funding window to support state development projects.
The Meghalaya government has formally asked for an extra ₹10,000 crore under the East Asian Partnership (EAP) funding window, a move aimed at accelerating infrastructure and social development plans across the state.
The request follows a review of the state’s fiscal needs, with the EAP window being a key source of external assistance for projects ranging from road construction to digital connectivity.
If approved, the additional funds could enable the completion of several stalled initiatives, including the expansion of rural health facilities and the upgrade of primary schools.
Conrad Sangma, speaking at a press conference, emphasized that the extra capital would help bridge the gap between current resources and the ambitious development targets set for the next five years.
