The Meghalaya Chief Minister inaugurated a new rehabilitation facility in Tura and announced standard operating procedures for substance abuse treatment centres.
The Meghalaya Chief Minister formally opened a new rehabilitation centre in the town of Tura on Thursday.
The centre, part of the state’s effort to curb substance abuse, will provide counselling, detoxification and aftercare services to affected residents.
In addition to the inauguration, the CM unveiled a set of standard operating procedures (SOPs) aimed at standardising care across all state-run substance abuse facilities.
The SOPs cover intake protocols, treatment guidelines, staff training and monitoring mechanisms, officials said, signalling a coordinated approach to the growing drug problem in the region.
