The Meghalaya state cabinet has approved a set of rules governing school complexes, regularised 26 employees and cleared pending dues of the Meghalaya College of Law (MCCL).
The Meghalaya cabinet met in Shillong and gave formal approval to a draft ordinance that sets operational and safety standards for school complexes across the state. The rules aim to streamline infrastructure management, ensure compliance with educational norms and improve student safety.
In the same session, the cabinet endorsed the regularisation of 26 employees who had been serving on contractual or temporary terms. Their status will be upgraded to regular staff, granting them full benefits and job security under state service rules.
The cabinet also cleared all outstanding financial obligations of the Meghalaya College of Law, clearing the institution's dues and allowing it to resume normal academic and administrative functions without fiscal constraints.
