The Meghalaya BJP announced on Thursday a month‑long service campaign to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public life. The launch took place at the state headquarters in Shillong, with party leaders pledging to conduct a series of welfare activities across the 11 districts.
The campaign will feature free health check‑ups, distribution of essential items to the under‑privileged, and educational drives for school children. Party officials said the initiative aims to showcase the BJP’s commitment to grassroots development while celebrating Modi’s leadership.
"We are grateful for the opportunities Modi has created for India, and this campaign is a small token of our appreciation," a senior BJP leader remarked. The party also highlighted the need to strengthen community ties and improve public services.
Work will begin next week, with volunteers encouraged to sign up through the party’s regional office. The BJP plans to document the activities on social media and share updates with the state’s electorate.
