The Meghalaya government has named nodal officers to facilitate movement of passengers traveling to Assam, a step aimed at mitigating disruptions caused by the ongoing border stalemate with the neighboring state.
The long‑running border dispute between Meghalaya and Assam has periodically halted regular bus and private vehicle services, leaving commuters stranded and trade flows disrupted.
