The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has intensified enforcement against unauthorised structures spanning Lakshmi Nagar to New Ashok Nagar in East Delhi.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has stepped up its enforcement drive against illegal constructions in East Delhi, targeting a stretch that runs from Lakshmi Nagar to New Ashok Nagar. Officials have begun on‑site inspections and have issued notices to property owners whose buildings do not comply with zoning and building regulations.

The area, known for rapid residential growth, has seen a surge in structures erected without the required approvals. Under the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, the authority can order demolition, levy fines, or seize assets to curb unauthorised development and ensure public safety.

MCD officials said the operation will continue until all violations are addressed, emphasizing that the crackdown aims to restore order and prevent future illegal construction. Residents have been advised to cooperate with the authorities and to regularise any pending approvals.
