BSP chief Mayawati said fabricated opinion polls are being spread to damage the party’s image before the upcoming elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab.
Mayawati, the leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party, alleged on Monday that false opinion polls are being circulated to tarnish the party’s reputation ahead of the state elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab. She said the surveys, which claim to show dwindling support for the BSP, are not based on any credible methodology and appear to be deliberately designed to mislead voters.
The party chief warned that such misinformation could influence the electorate at a crucial time, as the three states prepare for simultaneous polls later this year. Mayawati urged supporters to disregard the bogus data and focus on the BSP’s development agenda.
No official comment has been received from the agencies that allegedly released the surveys, and the Election Commission has not yet issued a statement on the matter. The BSP has announced that it will seek legal recourse if the circulation of fake polls continues.
