# Massive Protest Tomorrow Demanding Re-Inclusion of Ganadhal and Somanamaradi Gram Panchayats in Devadurga Taluk

**Jalahalli, Oct. 11:** Leaders from the villages under Ganadhal and Somanamaradi Gram Panchayats have announced a massive protest on October 12 (tomorrow) in front of the Jalahalli Nadakacheri, demanding that the villages be re-included in Devadurga Taluk.

Speaking at a press conference held in Jalahalli on October 11, leaders representing the two Gram Panchayat areas said villagers would take out a procession from Sri Ranganatha Temple in Jalahalli to the Nadakacheri, where they would stage a protest demanding that their grievances be addressed.

Advocate Basavaraj Ganadhal, speaking at the press conference, said the primary demand of the villagers was to bring the villages under Ganadhal and Somanamaradi Gram Panchayats back into Devadurga Taluk.

He explained that farmers and members of the public were being forced to travel to distant Arakera instead of nearby Jalahalli for various revenue-related services, including obtaining land records (Pahani) and processing mutation entries. This had caused unnecessary hardship and inconvenience to farmers and the general public, he said.

Speaking on the occasion, community leader Sabanna Kammaladinni warned that the agitation would continue until the villages under Ganadhal and Somanamaradi Gram Panchayats were retained within Jalahalli Hobli and re-included in Devadurga Taluk.

He further warned that if the government and the concerned authorities failed to respond to the villagers' demands, they would boycott the upcoming Gram Panchayat, Taluk Panchayat and Zilla Panchayat elections.

**Those present at the press conference included:** Advocate Basavaraj Ganadhal, Amaregouda Kammaladinni, Shivanagouda Desai, Sharanagouda Kammaladinni, Sabanna Kammaladinni, Venkat Reddy Kakkaladoddi, Sabanna Hugar, Ayyan Gouda Masti, Shivu Patil, Advocate Vasanth Kumar, Nagaraj, Abraham Kammaladinni, Hanumanth Somanamaradi and M.R. Basava, along with other leaders and villagers from Ganadhal and Somanamaradi.
