Massive fire engulfs Bhopal's New Market, multiple shops gutted

A massive fire broke out in the New Market area of Bhopal on Monday, turning several retail units into charred ruins. Firefighters arrived promptly and worked through the night to bring the blaze under control, deploying water hoses and foam to limit further spread. The incident has left a number of shops completely gutted, with owners assessing the damage to inventory and premises.
Authorities have opened an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, but no official statement on casualties or injuries has been released so far. Local police and municipal officials are coordinating relief efforts for affected shopkeepers, including temporary shelter and assistance with insurance claims.
The New Market, a busy commercial hub in the city, was temporarily closed as emergency crews continued to mop up hotspots and ensure the area is safe for the public to return. Residents and commuters were advised to avoid the vicinity until the site is declared secure.
