Farmer leader Manjinder Sirsa has publicly rebuked the AAP administration in Punjab, accusing it of failing to curb the recent rise in agricultural field fires.
Manjinder Sirsa, a well‑known farmer activist, publicly criticised the AAP‑led Punjab government, saying the state is witnessing an alarming increase in farm fires. He warned that the growing incidents threaten crops, air quality and the safety of rural communities.
Sirsa called for immediate action, urging authorities to enforce existing fire bans more strictly, improve monitoring of fields during the post‑harvest period and promote safer residue‑management practices among farmers.
The remarks add pressure on the state administration as agricultural groups demand swift measures to contain the blaze and protect livelihoods.
