Manipur Police Find Two Bodies While Searching for Missing Persons in Taphou Kuki Village

Manipur police announced that two bodies were recovered today while conducting a search for missing persons in the remote Taphou Kuki village of Churachandpur district. The operation was launched after relatives reported several family members as missing following an unexplained disappearance earlier this week. Search teams combed the hilly terrain and dense foliage surrounding the village, eventually locating the two deceased individuals at a secluded spot.

Authorities have not released the identities of the victims pending formal verification, but officials said families will be informed as soon as the process is complete. The police have also opened a criminal investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the deaths, and forensic teams have been dispatched to the site for autopsy and evidence collection.

Local leaders expressed grief and called for swift justice, urging the administration to enhance security and monitoring in the area, which has witnessed sporadic incidents of violence in recent months. The police continue to search for any other missing persons reported from the village and surrounding hamlets.
