Manipur Police Arrest Myanmar National in Sugar Smuggling Case

Police in Manipur arrested a Myanmar national and a second suspect on Thursday after a raid on a suspected smuggling route. During the operation, officials seized 900 grams of brown sugar believed to be intended for illicit distribution. The arrest follows a growing crackdown on cross‑border smuggling in the region. Authorities have not yet released details on the suspects’ identities beyond the nationalities. The seized sugar is under forensic examination to determine its origin and intended use.
