Manipur’s Home Minister met Union Home Minister Amit Shah to review the security situation and explore steps for lasting peace in the troubled state.

In a recent meeting, the Home Minister of Manipur sat down with Union Home Minister Amit Shah to assess the prevailing law‑and‑order challenges in the northeastern state. The discussion focused on the recent surge in insurgent activities and the impact they have on civilian life and development projects.
Both officials underscored the importance of a coordinated approach involving state police, central agencies and local community leaders to restore normalcy. They reviewed existing peace‑building initiatives and identified gaps that need immediate attention.
Amit Shah reiterated the central government's commitment to providing additional resources and intelligence support, while the Manipur minister pledged to strengthen on‑ground enforcement and accelerate socio‑economic programs aimed at addressing the root causes of unrest.
The two leaders agreed to convene a follow‑up task force within the next fortnight to monitor progress and ensure that the agreed measures translate into tangible improvements for the people of Manipur.
